AJIYER offers an opportunity to learn about Bangladeshi culture, crafts and biodiversity with the aim of enhancing the livelihood of the rural community; honoring the living culture, traditions, knowledge, skills, rituals and revitalizing the traditional industries.

AJIYER started its journey in 2002 as a fair trade tour operator in Bangladesh, focused on Fair Trade Tourism. AJIYER is the tour host of Meet the People Tours, which is a joint venture between Traidcraft, the UK’s leading fair trade organization and Saddle Skedaddle, an independent tour operator.As a pioneer of Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Bangladesh, AJIYER’s core activity is to develop the market for community based tourism and developproducts with elements of sustainable development.Since 2006, AJIYER also started to work on traditional & cultural products’ development to promote local art, craft and lifestyle. The organization strives to create quality products which should sell on their own strength and not because they were being made in a poverty stricken land.
AJIYER shares concern and support for local agriculture, rural development, women empowerment and ethical trade practices.In line with this support, it has developed promoted and popularized hand woven textile and handmade craft products within and outside Bangladesh and inspired many young women artisans by creating opportunities. AJIYER represents the humble life style and simple living of Bangladesh which is close to nature.This attracts many visitorsnationally and internationally promoting Bangladeshi traditional fabric, craft, culture and cuisine.
